ANTONY & THE JOHNSONS…Cut The World LP

After listening to Antony’s album I Am A Bird Now the thought crossed my mind that it was the most beautiful thing I had ever heard.  After hearing Antony perform with an orchestra at the Perth Concert Hall on the same world tour that this LP was recorded it occurred to me that he was the best singer I had ever heard.  I felt grateful to have lived to experience someone able to perform such emotionally rich songs at such a sustained level of perfection.  It was life affirming seeing someone with a unique and important talent, although for all intents and purposes a complete outsider, find their place, being comfortable in their own skin and being appreciated by an oft ungrateful world.  It is impossible to imagine art and life any better than this.
